Two Trent alumni have been named to the order of Canada.
Fiona Sampson '87, a Canadian Heritage and Development graduate, is currently a human rights lawyer. She was presented with this honour for her work with the Equality Project. Sampson is the CEO of the Equality Effect, an international network of human rights advocates working collaboratively to improve the lives of women and girls.
Robert Campbell '70, a Political Studies graduate, is currently the president and vice-chancellor of Mount Allison University. Throughout his time at Trent he helped found the International Student program, and was awarded the Symons Award for Excellence in Teaching for his dedication both as a facilitator and to his students. Campbell was awarded with this honour for his contributions to academia.
